We experienced our share of dramatic winter weather in 2011, all within the mighty month of February; and not only here in Michigan, but in many parts of the USA and Canada. During the Valentine month, we faced the following weather conditions; a record blizzard which buried some regions with 20 inches of snow, a 50 degree melt down, which transformed the landscape in almost a single day and then a few days later, an unusual ice storm impacting us yet again . . . phew! It offered many amazing icy photo opportunities inspiring poetry which I love presenting to you!

Trapped in ice
won’t suffice
I yearn to be free
from its squeeze,
Suddenly, sun returns
as I watch freeze burn
off my branches
inch by inches
dribbling and dripping
my limbs no longer tipping
from the hefty grasp
of the concrete mass
letting me breathe
oxygen deep
uplifting my figure
recapturing my rapture,
Feeling the release
I regard the ease
happy again to be Me
